The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has instructed all local councils in the UK to check the cladding on any high–rise social housing that they are responsible for, specifically for the particular cladding that was used on the Grenfell Tower refurbishment.
SAS LTD is working with local authorities and housing associations to take core samples of cladding materials for subsequent testing. We are accessing the high rise buildings using IRATA
industrial rope access systems which is a safe, rapid and cost effective way to carry out this sort of cladding inspection.
Inspecting cladding and taking cladding
core samples is something that we do regularly in our day to day work at SAS. We are pleased to be able, in some small way, to support the Government’s directive with a view to making social housing safer for all.
